What is a Worldview?

Chapter: Proverbs 8 | Verse: Proverbs 4:7

You don’t have to choose a worldview. You already have one. It’s the invisible map in your head that answers life’s biggest questions—even if you’ve never said them out loud.

“The beginning of wisdom is: Acquire wisdom; And with all your acquiring, get understanding.” — Proverbs 4:7, LSB

Proverbs 8 paints wisdom as a woman calling out in the street—offering direction, discernment, and understanding to any who will listen. That’s the essence of a worldview: wisdom lived out.

You can build your life on sound doctrine—or subtle lies. On eternal truth—or cultural trends. Your worldview determines how you see God, yourself, morality, purpose, and eternity.

And Solomon makes it clear: if you want to live well, think rightly. Get wisdom. Get understanding. Make it a pursuit—not a passive assumption.

Every Netflix show, every college class, every TikTok trend is shaping someone’s worldview. The question is—is yours shaped by Scripture?

What assumptions shape the way you live, vote, spend, or react?

  • Write down 5 big questions: Who is God? What is truth? What happens after death?
  • Compare your assumptions with Scripture.
  • Ask God to replace cultural noise with eternal clarity.

In Episode 2 of Walking with God, we explore how worldviews form, why they matter, and how biblical wisdom gives clarity in cultural chaos. Listen now and start walking with eyes wide open.
