You See Rubble. God Sees Revival

You See Rubble. God Sees Revival

Chapter: Nehemiah 2 | Verse: Nehemiah 2:17–20

“Then I said to them, ‘You see the bad situation we are in, that Jerusalem is desolate… Come, let us rebuild the wall of Jerusalem so that we will no longer be a reproach.’”

— Nehemiah 2:17 LSB

They laughed at Nehemiah. Mocked him. Called him a fool for dreaming that burned stones could rise again. But what they saw as rubble—God saw as revival.

Nehemiah finally speaks. After prayer, fasting, midnight walks, and royal permission—he casts the vision: “Let us rise up and build.”

The people could have scoffed. But something stirred. They strengthened their hands for the good work, even as enemies sneered.

Here’s the truth: God doesn’t call the qualified. He calls the burdened. And He turns rubble into revival through willing hearts.

What ruins around you need rebuilding? In your family? Church? Community? Don’t listen to the mockers. Listen to the Spirit. You may see rubble—but God sees revival.

Closing Prayer

God, strengthen my hands for the good work. Let me see not with fear—but with faith.
